Last fall my husband Chuck and I heard God speaking to us concerning moving south and although at that time we didn’t know when exactly we would be going, we did know for certain it would happen. We had seriously thought of going in April of 2020 but as Thanks Giving in Canada drew near I heard God say “January first,” which at the time sounded impossible. I prayed and asked God to confirm His Word to me by speakin’ directly to my husband, Chuck. Within a week Chuck brought up the subject and so we both fasted, prayed and began planning to move to Texas. We sold the stuff we were able to sell quickly and the rest we gave away to our Church and friends. It was hard to let go of a few things that we treasured but nothing in this life meant more to us than our relationship with our Saviour Jesus. We let go of most everything in Canada except our family ties and our friends. Those are always the things one struggles with most when leaving a place we’ve lived in along time.
Although I lived in Canada and raised three children in Canada just shy of 29 years it had never really seemed like home to me. I had tried to return home with my two youngest children after leaving my first (abusive) husband but was stopped by one phone call that would forever change my life for the better. God brought Chuck into the picture and the rest is history. Now 6 years later on January 1, 2020 we crossed the border back into the U.S. headed for my home in Texas all on pure faith and obedience!
So as we crossed into north Texas a few days later while bittersweet tears flowed down my cheeks off and on for several hours. We are struggling thru finances concerning my husbands’ immigration paperwork but we know God’s hand is at work. I was able to change my license plates, drivers and address over as well as get a job within less than two weeks. We miss some of our children and friends but know we are blessed by God. Each day has been a walk of faith we can see God’s hand at work as He plans the steps into further ministry and finance. My husbands’ paperwork is being filled out and will be underway w/in this next week!
